New Mission

Dear Friends and Family I am Going back to the Field overseas, but only for a week! Please Read!
(Here is a few pics above of Anthony and his team that went to Colombia a few weeks ago! This trip will be the beginning of Anthony’s/Chi Alpha Va Tech’s vision to reach out to the College Campuses of Colombia!)

First off I wanted to thank those who followed my journey on the World Race and supported/prayed for me! It was a life changing experience for me and for those that I served.  I am going back to the mission field, but not for a year just for a week this May! I will be going with Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship at Virginia Tech.  Chi Alpha is a national campus ministry on over 250 campuses nationwide.  Since the 1950’s it has been Chi Alpha’s vision to help university students grow spiritually during their formative college years.  It is a great privilege to be involved with campus ministry and to be involved in student missions.  God is using college students to impact the world!
Over the last six years my Brother in law and Sister (Anthony and Michelle Saladino) have been given the great privilege of leading college students on mission trips to Colombia, South America. They are the Pastors of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship at Virginia Tech. During these trips the Lord has been speaking to them about helping the local church reach out to University students in Colombia. This May 25th, I am going to Colombia with them to pray and talk with pastors in two different cities to see if we could partner with them to reach the Universities in their city. Anthony, two other leaders from his ministry and I will be taking a week long trip to inner city Colombia.  During my trip this summer I will have many ministry opportunities, through nightly services and talking with college students, as well as helping to equip the local church to reach out to their campus.
The vision is that Virginia Tech Chi Alpha would plant a university ministry in Colombia.  We would then take Spring Break and summer mission trips to that same city to help the local church reach their university.  Perhaps we would then send students to give a year of their lives after college to help establish this ministry.  This trip in May will help Chi Alpha at Virginia Tech to set up the next step in establishing campus ministry in Colombia.
Would you pray about supporting me financially to make this dream a reality?  In order for me to go this May, I need to raise $1800 in tax deductable gifts.  That is 18 people supporting me at 100!
If you would like to be part of this outreach to Colombia, please make checks payable to Virginia Tech Chi Alpha (VTXA) who will be processing the checks for my trip and send them to my address Vincent Farino 7678 Turlington Road Toano, Va 23168.  Another option is to give online at www.vtxa.com. And click donate.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at: Email-vincent.farino@gmail.com
Thanks for reading this and even if you can only partner in prayer I am so thankful for you, God bless ya!
